That's it. There is no premium tier you'll eventually be pushed into. There is no trial that converts to a paid sub. We don't sell your data because that's a different, sleazier business model that we're not in.

Adding a paid tier sounds harmless. Here's why we won't:

If you genuinely want a paid VPN with no ads, our honest recommendation: Mullvad or IVPN. Both are no-log, accept cash, have transparent ownership, and don't run aggressive upsell games. We have no affiliation with either.

Will there ever be a paid tier?
No plans for one. Our whole product model is built around ads being the single revenue stream. Adding a paid tier would create perverse incentives to cripple the free tier — exactly what we built ClownVPN to avoid.
How often do ads show up?
One short interstitial when you open the app. Optionally, one between server switches. That's it. No mid-session ads, no banner ads constantly on screen.
Can I pay to remove ads?
No. The ads are the entire revenue model. Removing them would mean we couldn't run the service. If you really want an ad-free experience, our recommendation is honest: use a paid VPN. Mullvad and IVPN are good.
Do the ads track me across other apps?
Ad networks (currently Google AdMob) use your device Advertising ID for targeting. You can reset it or opt out of personalized ads at any time in your Android Settings → Privacy → Ads. The non-personalized version still funds us — we just get a lower CPM.
Aren't free VPNs always shady?
Usually yes. Most "free" VPNs are either trial traps, surveillance shells, or fronts for botnets. The honest free VPN niche is small — but it exists, and we're in it. Ad-supported revenue is a clean, well-understood model.
